The most frequently asked questions about our short-term loans.

Am I eligible for an express loan with Sunshine?
To get a loan with Sunshine Loans, you must be at least 18 years old. Secondly, you must have a regular income of at least $700 a week ($1400 a fortnight) take home pay. This income can be a combination of employment and government benefits. Also, you must be able to comfortably afford the repayments on your current budget. As part of our commitment to responsible lending, we will not lend to those who might be placed in a position of financial hardship as a result of our lending. Check your loan eligibility here.
What if I am unemployed or on a pension?
Unfortunately, if you are unemployed or only receiving government benefits, we are unable to assist you.
How much does it cost to get a loan?
Loans from $2,050 to $2,500
  • We charge interest at a maximum Annual Percentage Rate of 48% per annum* plus an Establishment Fee of $400.
  • There are no other account keeping or other regular monthly fees.
  • The minimum term is 63 days and the maximum term is 140 days
  • For example, a $2050 loan over 20 weeks will have payments of $134.51 and a total repayment of $2,690.17. This is an example only and other charges or fees may apply.

*The Comparison Rate for a loan of $2,500 over two years is 66.20%.

How long do your loans go for?
Our loans generally run for a period of 12 to 20 weeks, but you can pay out at any time.
What can I use my short-term loan for?
We provide express funds for almost anything. Need a little extra for a bond payment? Unexpected vehicle repairs take you by surprise? Not to mention when the fridge or washing machine breaks, or a sudden Vet Bill for your favourite pet? Or perhaps you just need that little extra for a car, bike, boat, or holiday? The list goes on - just ask us!
Can I get a loan if I'm self-employed?
Absolutely, we often provide loans to self-employed people. Self-employed people have rainy days too! Tools break, the computer needs an upgrade, tax time takes you by surprise. No worries

When can I submit my application?
The application process is completely online so you can apply 24/7. Apply here.
How long does the process take?
The application should only take you less than 5 minutes. Once we have your assessed and approved your application, we will send you a loan offer to sign online. Once you have signed, the money will be in your account in cleared funds within seconds.
Can I repay the loan early?
Yes. You can payout your loan at any time. We do not have any "payout early fees", in fact you will save some money by paying out early.

You are welcome to apply for another loan as soon as you have paid out a current loan.
What happens if I can't pay on time?
Don't worry! As rainy day fund experts, we know that it never rains, but it pours. If you think you might not be able to pay on time, get in touch as soon as possible via Customer Support so we can discuss some options. We need 2 business days notice for rescheduling or adjusting payments.
What if I need a few extra dollars during my loan?
We do offer Refinancing on a current loan if needed. We would offer you a new loan where a portion would pay out the remainder of your current loan and the balance deposited into your account.
What are your office hours?
We run on Queensland time, 7 am to 7 pm Monday to Friday + Weekend hours. But you can apply online 24/7!
