Funeral Loans

Planning a funeral is likely one of the most difficult things you will ever have to do – and it can be made even more stressful by the fact that the cost of a funeral in Australia can be up to $15,000 (or more). It is therefore understandable that you may need to look at funeral loans at some point, as even basic cremation packages start at around $4,000.

When you're preparing a final farewell for your loved one, the last thing you want to be panicking about is money. This is why Sunshine Loans provides emergency funeral loans of up to $2,000 to assist with the costs of celebrants, chapel services, flowers, funeral director fees and more.

Emergency Funeral Loan

Unless your loved one had been paying off their funeral in advance or had funeral insurance, it's likely that you'll require an emergency funeral loan when it comes time to make preparations. At Sunshine Loans, we provide emergency cash loans for just this situation. This allows you to borrow up to $2,000 and can help ease the burden of funeral costs.

And because we understand that things can move fast, we can get your agreed upon cash to you in as little as 24 hours, giving you room to breathe.

Funeral Loans On Bad Credit

If you're grieving for the loss of a loved one, you won't want to be worrying about credit scores. This is why Sunshine Loan offers funeral loans on bad credit, provided that we are confident that you can repay the loan comfortably and without adding to your stresses. We understand that previous financial mistakes are not always an indication of how you will handle your money in the future.

How Much Can I Borrow?

If you require a loan for funeral expenses, you can expect to be able to borrow up to $2,000 from us here at Sunshine Loans. We do however encourage you to borrow within your limits, so as to not over-burden yourself with debt you cannot afford. If you take out a funeral loan with us, you can of course borrow more money in the future, providing you have paid off your outstanding loan.

Loan Eligibility & Costs

Our funeral and burial loans require the following credentials:

  • You must be aged 18 years or older.
  • You should receive $600 a week ($1200 a fortnight) take home pay. This income can come from a part-time or full-time job and government benefits (e.g. Centrelink), but cannot solely come from government benefits. This must also show on your bank statements.
  • You should be able to satisfy us that you will be able to repay the loan comfortably, without adding any extra financial burden on yourself.

And here's what you can expect to pay for your loan:

  • An establishment fee of 20% of the amount borrowed.
  • Monthly loan fee is 4% of the amount borrowed.
  • Our loan repayment terms generally run for a period of 9 weeks, but you can pay out early at any time – without penalty.

A full list of fees and loan costs is outlined on our website.

When you're ready to apply, you can do so online 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Alternatively, you can call us on (07) 5526 8866 (9:00am to 4:00pm QLD time) if you require assistance.

Why Choose Sunshine Loans?

Because we know that sometimes in life, when it rains, it truly pours. Our aim is to help Australians everywhere get back on their feet. You can apply for a loan for funeral expenses directly on our website, and our expert team will get back to you with an offer and a digital contract as quickly as possible.

At Sunshine Loans, we are also understanding of and respect every applicant's unique circumstances, meaning we can even offer funeral loans on bad credit. We are proud of our responsible lending practices and will not take advantage of vulnerable borrowers.

How long does it take to receive approval?

Our turnaround time is generally 24 hours, but usually less. We accept and approve loan applications during normal business hours (9:00am to 4:00pm QLD time). If your loan is approved during this time, the funds will be transferred to your account on the same day. However, sometimes banking processes can add a bit of a delay. If so, you can expect your funds the following day.

Do you carry out credit checks?

As part of our responsible lending practices, we assess your credit score when you apply for a loan in order to determine that it's suited to you. But don't worry – that doesn't mean you'll be knocked back.

What happens if I can't pay on time?

If you are unable to make repayments on your loan in time, please get in touch as soon as possible via Customer Support. We may be able to reschedule your repayment dates or make other arrangements.
