Whether you want adventure, relaxation or a romantic getaway in QLD, you will be able to find the perfect break for you.

Romantic Getaways QLD

If you are looking to reconnect with your significant other, then why not do it over the Labour Day long weekend? A short and affordable escape might be just what the doctor ordered. In the wake of the general stress around Easter, a great way to refresh your relationship and take a step back to unwind is the fairy-tale setting offered by rainforest retreats and mesmerising views. Find intimacy and romance in these idyllic locations and create your version of the perfect Labour Day long weekend.

Sunshine Coast Hinterlands

Explore the rainforest retreats in the Sunshine Coast hinterlands, such as the picturesque and cosy small town of Montville. Trek through Kondilla National Park and bask in the waterfalls, rock pool, and babbling brooks. Montville also offers vineyards, wineries and scenic lookouts galore, such as Baroon lookout where you can take in breathtaking views of Baroon Pocket Dam.

Gold Coast Hinterlands

Marvel under the luminescent glow worms, take a stroll among the trees and immerse yourself in nature with the Tamborine Skywalk, or take one of the many hikes through Tamborine Mountains and take in the numerous cascading waterfalls.

Scenic Rim

Just an hour from Brisbane and the Gold Coast you will find the Scenic Rim. Offering a diversity of landscape and activities, you can go hiking, glamping or just take in the local cuisine. Within the Scenic Rim, you will find rustic and picturesque Lamington National Park, with a rich variety of wildlife, walking trails and waterfalls to enjoy.

Springbrook

Springbrook offers an impressive skyline, with an ancient volcano, lush forests and pristine falls all around. Visit Canon Lookout for breathtaking views and stop at Twin Fall, where you can take a dip at the base of the three levels of cascading waterfalls.

Adventure & Relaxation Getaways QLD

Looking to go somewhere over the long weekend with your mates? Or planning to step out on a solo adventure? Then check out our top suggestions for places to visit if you want adventure and relaxation.

Sunshine Coast, Noosa

Noosa works as a day trip, but we recommend booking some accommodation in this eclectic town and staying a couple of nights. For a scenic coastal walk, Noosa National Park has a trail that will take you past Boiling Point Lookout, via Dolphin Point Lookout, and through Granite Bay to the famous Fairy Tidal Pools.

If you're a sucker for animals, Australia Zoo and Maleny Botanic Gardens & Bird World are both roughly an hour's drive from the town's centre. If you prefer relaxing on the beach, then you could visit Fraser Island or relax on one of the many beaches that hug Noosa's coastline. Hastings Street offers shops and beaches if you are searching for those carefree tourist-town feels.

The Sunshine Coast offers plenty of nightlife, so if you're wanting to paint the town red with your mates or while flying solo, you'll be sure to find some bars, pubs, breweries, and nightclubs to keep you occupied. We recommend hitting up Hastings Street after dark and seeing what bars are pumping. There is Miss Moneypenny's (a large local favourite), the trendy Village Bicycle, and the more sophisticated Locale, but why not just see where the night takes you?

Byron Bay

Technically located in New South Wales, this beachy town is a popular tourist destination and surfer's hub for Brisbanites. Byron offers countless activities and escapes – whether you want to learn to surf, take a guided scuba diving tour, horse ride along the beach, paddle board around the lakes or go kayaking with dolphins – you won't be bored in Byron. If you wish to just lay back and soak up the sun, you will find yourself spoilt for choice with the endless list of noteworthy beaches. From Belongil Beach, Main Beach, Clarkes Beach to Watergos Beach; you could spend your entire Labour Day long weekend beach hopping the coastline of Byron Bay. When it comes to nightlife, definitely start out at the Stone Wood Brewery to see what the locals have to offer. If you wake up in the morning and feel a bit dusty, we suggest taking your board out to The Pass. It will freshen you up and it's an easy break to catch a wave.

If you are someone who crams a lot into their weekend getaways, then consider exploring the surrounding areas of Byron. Nimbin is a quirky village with an artistic feel and a hippy reputation. Recently, it has become more touristy, so a lot of locals prefer to go to Mullumbimby for its authenticity. If you're in Mullumbimby and want to relax, we recommend stopping by the Kiva Spa. This quirky and affordable spa house is the perfect place to unwind.

Whether you're looking to find your Zen, rekindle the romance or add a zap of adrenaline to your bloodstream, there are plenty of opportunities to do each of those in Queensland over this Labour Day long weekend.

If this list has inspired you to make the most of the long weekend and set out on an adventure, but you don't have just quite enough to get going just yet, don't worry. Sunshine Loans offers fast small cash loans of up to $2,000, even if you don't have the best credit history. Happy holidays!
